Triangle Weaving
with Alice Cappa
Triangle weaving is a unique process that builds the weave
from two opposite corners at the same time. It’s a good
technique for using those colorful, glitzy, textured novelty yarns
that can’t be used on a standard loom.
This is probably the
most forgiving technique, blending in odd textures and colors into
a unified whole. Students will build the frame,
break for lunch, then begin to weave, and a full-size shawl can be done in just a few hours. Saturday,
February 23, 10:00am – 4:00pm, bring a lunch. $80 members, frame
materials included.

Pour Art and Splash in Water Media with
Esther Tubbs
This
creative technique is done by using liquid Acrylics, staining
watercolors or using watercolor ink and pouring the mixture over
watercolor paper. Pouring allows one to get “lost” in the
painting process as we splash, spin, tilt and move to our creative
rhythm. One learns to
let go of preconceived notions and learn to create with abandon.
After the “chaos” has been created the discerning
artist can then come in and pull everything together. Some
painting experience required.
This is a two day workshop; March 28, Saturday 10am-4pm,
(bring a bag lunch) and March 29, Sunday 1pm-4:30pm, $85 members,
materials included.

Esther Tubbs
Esther’s
desire is to develop creativity in each student by teaching them
to express their personal painting signature through the joyful,
free usage of color and movement. Her goal for each class is to
create a fun, relaxed atmosphere as students learn about the use
of color, design and composition. At the end of the class series
students will move up another level as they experience new ways of
seeing as an artist sees and then expressing that “seeing” in
successful paintings after the classes are over. Must have some
